PEI credentials recognise demonstrated learning against the requirements of a specified programme. They are issued by Prompt Engineering LLC, operating as the Prompt Engineering Institute, and are designed to be useful, clear, and verifiable.
Eligibility and issue
To be eligible, a learner must meet the published programme requirements, which may include completing required lessons, submitting work, passing an assessment, and satisfying any review criteria. PEI verifies completion before issuing a credential. We may correct administrative errors or decline to issue a credential where requirements have not been met.
What a credential means
A credential confirms that PEI has assessed the learner against the stated programme requirements at the time of issue. It does not constitute professional licensure, government accreditation, or a guarantee of employment, promotion, AI-system performance, or business outcomes.
Verification
PEI may provide a public verification page for a credential code. A valid record can display the credential code, credential title, recipient name where available, and issue date. Verification is intended to confirm the credential’s status, not to disclose assessment work, scores, or account information.
Use of credentials
Recipients may accurately state that they hold an active PEI credential and may share the associated certificate or verification link. Do not alter a certificate, use an expired or revoked credential, imply PEI endorsement beyond the award itself, or permit another person to represent your credential as their own.
Review, revocation, and correction
PEI may review a credential and correct, suspend, or revoke it where it was issued in error, obtained through impersonation, fraud, plagiarism, material misrepresentation, or a serious breach of these terms. A revoked credential will not be shown as valid on its verification page.
Questions and appeals
If you believe a credential record or decision is incorrect, contact hello@promptengineering.org within 30 days of the decision or discovery of the issue. Include enough detail for us to review the matter. PEI will consider the information and provide a written outcome.
